I am a therapist in training studying at Columbia University. As a queer, Black woman, I understand the importance of spaces where you can feel your identity is not only respected and acknowledged but also that you have room to breathe, feel your emotions and let everything out. My goal is to create a supportive space where you can explore your identity and recognize and celebrate your strengths and resilience in navigating your unique experiences.
I approach therapy with an anti-racist, trauma-informed, feminist and sex-affirming lens. I incorporate multiple modalities such as Narrative Therapy, Emotion Focused Therapy, Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy and Affirmative Therapy.
With my identities, I had a hard time finding a therapist who resonated with me, so I understand the importance of establishing a therapeutic relationship. I am available to people of all backgrounds and have the most experience working with queer, transgender/gender non-conforming folks and/or BIPOC. I work with people navigating gender identity, life transitions, depression, anxiety, relationship issues, and self-esteem. I’m passionate about providing support to the LGBTQIA+ community and reminding ourselves that it is not a burden or curse to feel. If you’re seeking a safe, peaceful, and supportive environment where you can unwind, explore, process, and heal, I’d love to connect with you.
