I believe that therapy is a place to unravel and put yourself back together again, to identify and push aside the things that get in the way of engaging agency in your life. Because you’ve worked so hard to get where you are, I’d understand if the prospect of entering a process that encourages vulnerability and uncertainty in the presence of another can be scary. But I will be there with you, listening and inviting depth and insight.
I am effective with folks who look great on paper but find themselves stuck in undesirable patterns. Or maybe you find yourself often misunderstood and disappointed in the relationships in your life – I think we could be a good fit, too. I specialize in relationship issues, racial trauma, PTSD, life transitions and gender and sexual identity exploration. I work with couples of various relationship structures looking to improve their communication, connection and/or work through cross-cultural issues.
I use a relational and interpersonal approach and incorporate elements of EFT and mindfulness to get curious with you around the messy parts of your life, untangle how your past influences your present and prepare you for a future where you can be more connected to others and yourself.
In addition to providing psychoanalytic psychotherapy to individuals and partners, I am available for supervision and consultation. I enjoy working with early career therapists of color looking to cultivate their clinical voice and navigate the terrain. In consultation I provide support on cases/caseloads where therapists are looking to bring a more culturally-responsive, sociopolitical-minded or queer and trans-affirming lens to their clinical practice.
